Emballasjeforsk is a meeting arena for people in business and research and with coordinating function and idea generation as a basis for project development. We execute research activities in optimal packaging solutions with focus on product quality, environmental quality and economy in the whole distribution chain. Total project portfolio with annual volume of about 50 mill NOK (financial contribution from the Research Council of Norway and the industry). Emballasjeforsk has about 30 members, including packaging producers, packaging users (especially food companies) and 6 R&D institutes. Secretariate: Norwegian Packaging Association.

The Packaging Optimization Committee (NOK) of Norwegian Business and Industry was established to strengthen the cause of packaging optimization in Norway. It is 10 years since the Packaging Optimization Committee of Norwegian Business and Industry was established. Norway has very good recycling & recovery schemes that function well, and with results that are among the best in Europe. The chairman of the board is Helge Fredriksen who is working for The NHO - Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise.
